A couple weeks ago at E3, Nintendo announced very limited details about the online connectivity (which many are referring to as Wii-Fii) for their next system, the Nintendo Wii. The only real information was that Nintendo will be using the Opera browser, and they left the rest of the details concealed. Just recently, though, IGN interviewed Scott Hedrick, the executive vice president of Opera.
The interview mainly talks about the Opera software functionality and does not get into specifics on how that will translate into the Wii system. IGN posed several good questions, trying to get new details on the online capabilities of the Wii, but virtually all of these questions were responded with, "Nintendo has not yet released this information."
However, a couple new details were touched on in the interview. Firstly, Hedrick hinted at the idea of being able to surf the web "with a motion sensitive remote control." He also more or less said that there will be a fully functioning web browser built into the online framework.
For the full interview, to see all the questions that Hedrick refused to answer, check out IGN.com.
