If you're one of the more than 1 million Roomba owners in the US, then you've probably at one point been entranced by the melodic tones the robot emits when it begins cleaning, runs out of batteries, or finishes its sweep. Well, the geniuses over at roombahacking.com have created a hack that allows you to use the Roomba's MIDI capabilities to program your own Roomba songs.
In addition, the creators of the hack threw in the ability to control vacuum movements and the Roomba's built-in LED lights, meaning you can make your Roomba light up and "dance" along to its musical presentation.
The application also functions fully as a general Roomba remote. You can basically control all functions remotely, especially if you use it in conjunction with their Bluetooth control hack. You absolutely have to check out the demo video, where the Roomba performs Super Mario Bros. It's hacks like this that just put a smile on my face. Hats off to you, Roomba hackers.
