Sling Media announced Friday that the public beta version of their SlingPlayer Mobile software is now available, allowing people with their Slingbox PC device and a Windows Mobile Smartphone to watch and remotely control their own TV without needing to be connected to a computer.
We got most of the details a few months ago in an interview with Sling Media at this year's CES show (watch the video), where they showed off their mobile Slingplayer, and now it is actually available to the public.
Sling Media CEO Blake Kikorian, says, "With SlingPlayer Mobile, we continue to make it easier to extend your living room TV experience to wherever you happen to be and ensure that you never miss that pivotal play or big news event and that you always know the score."
When the public beta is over, the software will cost $29.99, with no additional monthly charge from Sling Media. But if you hurry and head to their website, you can take part in the public beta for free.
