Gadget shop Fancylogic sent us the Elecom Earhorn portable speaker for review. These speakers do not need batteries.

Elecom Ear horn is a simple product that amplifies sound through a horn shaped resonator. The supplied ear buds find a snugly fit left and right of the Elecom speakers.

The loudness of these speakers will not hurt your ears for sure. I tested the ear horn with an iPod nano. At full volume the loudness is ok and usable in a reasonable quite room. The sound quality is acceptable.
The main attraction of the Elecom speakers is that you do not need batteries. The shape and design of the ear horn are pleasing. If you want to bother your neighbors on the train with loud music these portable speakers are not for you. Measurement of this portable speaker is 81x81x27mm.
Fancylogic sells the Elecom Ear horn for $39.99 (Free gift included).

We reported about the Japanese Elecom speakers the first time back in 2004.
