Apple Store Traps Customers in Elevator

Being trapped in an elevator is actually one of the top fears in the country, and just recently a group of customers faced that fear at the new Apple store in New York City. Having just opened a little over a week ago as a flagship 24/7 store, there are bound to be some problems, but this one required the New York Police Department.

The elevator, which is completely encased in glass, would not budge when employees of the Apple Store tried to help the customers out, so they had to call in the NYPD. After about 45 minutes of essentially being stuck in a human petri dish, the police were able to open the doors and let the unfortunate customers out safely. If anything, these people should have gotten a free $10 gift card or something, but apparently they received nothing to compensate for their inconvenience. The overall lesson here: never count on minimum-wage-paid retail employees to help you out when you're in a bad situation. Just call the cops first.
