In a press release, Fujifilm today announced the launch of their newest product, the FinePix Z3 digital camera. This is the latest addition to their relatively new "Z" series of cameras, and is plugged as the successor to the FinePix Z1, which leaves me wondering what was wrong with the FinePix Z2. The Z3 defines itself as a lightweight, super-compact camera that still has the ability to catch great pictures. It sports an array of nice features, like i-Flash, which automatically corrects the exposure to create more natural looking backgrounds.

The camera also has picture stabilization, which is quickly becoming the norm among higher-end cameras, and "Natural Light" shooting mode, which helps to get better pictures in low-light environments. David Troy, a senior product manager at Fuji, says, "The FinePix Z3 has combined Fujifilm's rich photographic legacy with the style and sophistication that made the FinePix Z1 such a popular digital camera."
The camera will of course use Fuji's proprietary xD memory card format, and will include 10 MB of internal memory. It has 5.1 Megapixels and can shoot VGA videos at 30 frames per second. It also features a 3x optical zoom without extending the camera's lense (hence keeping the sleek, compact look).

The FinePix Z3 is scheduled to hit retail shelves this July in both silver and a funky (yes, the press release actually says "funky") metallic blue, and it will carry an MSRP of $279.95.
