Lots of Nintendo Wii details have been trickling out lately (i.e. the console will sell for under $250, and we got some small hints about the system's online connectivity), and just recently some more key information was released.
In case you haven't heard, the Wii will have a "virtual console" capability that will allow you to play classic Nintendo games (and even some from other publishers) with a special controller. Wednesday, for the first time, some definitive pricing information for these games was revealed.
At one point there was confusion about Nintendo execs saying the classic Nintendo games would be free to download on the Wii, but I guess we now know for sure that is not going to be the case. According to president Satoru Iwata, the games will run between 500 and 1,000 Yen (which is roughly $5 - $10).
It's unknown exactly what virtual console titles will be available at the system's launch, but at E3, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, and Sonic the Hedgehog were all showcased in the Wii booth, so those will most likely be popping up at some point on the Wii.
