Netflix Eyeing Movie Downloads (Again)

On Tuesday, Netflix announced that they are officially "considering a broad range of options as part of its strategy to allow subscribers to download movies from the Internet." This is not the first time Netflix has considered movie downloads (link), but the options they're throwing around now are different.
The seemingly top idea right now is for Netflix to release a proprietary set-top box for your TV from which you would download online movies.
This would certainly differentiate the Netflix service from other online movie download companies, like Movielink, which only lets you stream the videos on your computer. Netflix has said they will invest $5 million to $10 million this year in downloading technology. I think there may be a better chance of this idea coming to fruition than there was for the TiVo idea 2+ years ago.
