Samsung's Interesting Statement about Blu-ray to the Media

The news that broke yesterday about Samsung considering an HD DVD/Blu-Ray combo player spread like wildfire throughout the online community. However, Samsung today released a "statement to the media" that seems to conflict with that possibility.
The two-sentence statement reads, "Samsung Electronics is fully committed to the Blu-ray format and currently only has plans to introduce a Blu-ray player to the market. Samsung is looking forward to a very successful launch of the BD-P1000 which will be available on retail shelves, June 25th for a $999 MAP price in the United States."
The key word there is "only", leading us to believe that they are not planning to support HD DVD at all. I can't know for sure if this statement is directed at the combo player news, but its timing does seem to suggest that.
