The Sony PSP homebrew community is not slowing down. Sony tries to stop the movement by releasing new PSP firmware versions with security fixes that make it harder to run homebrew code. But also the latest 2.71 version has been hacked this week by the homebrewers.
Sony PSP homebrewers are not only shining firmware hacks. There are tons of interesting and useful applications and also homebrew Sony PSP accessories available today. Inspired by our Sony PSP Future Feature requests we collected a year ago, I4U reader Original sent us a list of homebrew solutions to several of the features users want on the Sony PSP, but Sony did not deliver themselves yet. See below a list of highlights of homebrew achievements.
Highlights of Sony PSP Homebrew Achievements:
Sony PSP GPS
Sony PSP TV, Also available from Sony via Location Free TV device.
OSK -Sony PSP Software Keyboard
Sony PSP IM
Sony PSP eBook Viewer
iR Shell: PC HDD access, IR Remote Control and more
Tons of Game Emulators
FTP and VNC for PSP
If I missed an interesting and free homebrew solution please email me and I will add it to the list.
