Obviously still in love with the "360" in the name of the new Xbox, Microsoft recently showed off a new product that relishes in the number 360 -- it's a video conferecing camera that displays the full room (the full 360 degrees). Its main purpose is for boardroom discussions that can be viewed in a more life-like way for remote members.
You place the camera in the middle of a conference table and people, via Microsoft's proprietary software, will be able the see the entire meeting room in a full 360 degree view.
You'll also be able to sync pictures and PowerPoint slides alongside the camera's images. It's all about making the increasingly popular "virtual meeting" as much like a real meeting as possible.
We don't know any pricing details or when this will make it into retail, but what we do know is that this is one totally tripped out peripheral that could really revolutionize web and conference cameras.
