Condé Nast Publications buys Wired News for $25 million from Lycos (Daum).
Back in the day (1999) Lycos paid $83 million in a stock transaction for Wired Digital, which included Wired News.
Maybe now there will be more exciting synergies possible between the legendary Wired print magazine and its online format.
HotBot, Hotwired and Webmonkey are not part of this deal and stay with Lycos.
