Phantom Console Makes Like A Ghost and Disappears

More Gaming News
Ever since the Phantom Console was announced more than 2 years ago, it has lived up to its namesake, almost completely invisible from the public view. At E3 this year, some of the attendees I talked to were still asking questions about it. Of course, Phantom was a no-show at the big gaming expo, and now we see why.
It seems that all references to the console on Phantom Entertainment's Website has been permanently removed, leading us all to wonder if the company actually ever had any kind of plan to actually release the darn thing.
Phantom is now pulling an N-Gage on us and moving away from hardware to focus on the much more easily distributed software market, pushing their on-demand game service that smells of GameTap. I guess it's a good thing that the Phantom was never released. We didn't really need another Gizmondo or Xavix cluttering up the video game shelves.
