1UP Gets A Glance At Final PS3 Dev Kit

With the PlayStation 3 launch just three months away, 1UP got a chance to see what the final version of the dev kit looks like, and even captured a video of it. The monstrous machine looks as bulky as a laserdisc player and as complex as the pilot controls on Air Force One.
More of note, though, is the video captured of the PS3 dashboard. Much like the PSP, the system menu will be presented as a bunch of sub-menus, like "settings", "game", and "friends". That last option makes me think that Sony may actually have a worthwhile online networking infastructure, unlike their online mode for the PS2.
Another interesting thing in 1UP's report is that they said the tilt function wasn't built into the controller yet. Exactly how much headway has Sony made with that feature? This makes me wonder how useful that is actually going to be in the PS3's first generation of games.
