Japanese Cain Labs reveals a 2.1ch active speaker system for the Apple iPod player with vacuum tube amplifier.
The active speaker system from Cain Laboratory features a subwoofer with 12W and 2 satellite speakers with each 6W. As with most of today's tube based amplifiers the glass tubes are visible outside on the device (see blue light in the photo).
Measurements of the amplifier with built-in sub woofer is 160×225×165mm and for the satellites the measurements are 80×85×160mm. The weight altogether is 4.5kg.
The iPod tube amplifier audio system is supposed to sell for 30,000 Yen (~$258) later this month.
