Amazon is already dabbling in the on-demand video purchasing market, but right now it's mainly just with specialized partnerships, like the CBS/CustomFlix one that allows customers to purchase CBS News video DVDs at their own request. However, a former Amazon employee recently leaked backdoor sites at Amazon that show that the online giant is planning a massive digital video downloading store.

The ex-employee left Amazon a couple years ago, so he was not part of the video store project, but he did somehow manage to find URLs that show the unreleased digital video store. Even though it was directly on Amazon.com, official spokespeople apparently turned to a random page of the "one sentence PR nonsense" book and said, "We don't talk about what we might or might not do in the future."
While the leaked pages have been converted to nothingness, Cnet managed to grab some screenshots that show what was on the page in question. It looks like Amazon will not only be offering TV shows and other 30-minute videos, but will also have "movies, life and learning videos, and international videos". Much like iTunes, the TV show episodes will cost $1.99, according to the now-nonexistant Web page.
