There's something about specially colored game consoles that make every gamer, guy or girl, desirous of one, even when it's the eternally gender-specific color pink. Though I've got to imagine this is created with the ever rising girl gamer population in mind. Either way, this is what gamers in the UK will be getting for this holiday season. Specifically, it'll be hitting English stores in November. Hm. Isn't that the same month the PS3 is coming out?
I guess Sony is so leery about the exclusionary high price of their PS3 that they hope a special paint job on their PS2 will cause some Wii hopefuls to turn to them instead. Or maybe they just want to suck some extra cash out of die-hard Sony fans who are already going to be shelling out near a thousand dollars for their PS3 experience.
The Pepto pink PS2, its official name, will launch on November 8 for 100 pounds (about $190), which is the same price as any other PS2. It's a slimline PS2 and it will come included with two matching-color controllers.
