Panasonic (Matsushita) introduces in Japan the World's first TV with built-in DVD Recorder.
Consumer DVD Recorder are going mainstream with prices below $400.
TVs with built-in VHS or DVD Player are available since a while and are filling the shelves at Wal-Mart and K-Mart.
Panasonic now integrates a DVD-RAM Recorder in a 21" TV-Set for the first time.
The DVD2-SHOT features single button recording and uses Hybrid VBR" method (Variable Bit Rate Control) to optimize recording quality. The all-in-one TV also features an FM Radio Receiver.
