So we know that Nintendo will be holding a very special press event in New York City on September 14, where it is the almost universal assumption that they will finally give us the specifics on when the Wii will launch and how much it will cost. Now it seems that instead of just giving worldwide details, they will also have a similar event in Europe, on September 15.
A Nintendo of Europe spokesperson said this on the subject: "Wii will be playable. Nintendo will be announcing new software at the event and there will be new announcements regarding the Wii console itself." And I mean, heck, if they give us any more information about the Wii console itself and don't mention launch details, I think I might go crazy.
We are finally in September. Nintendo has said, since months ago, that this will be the month when all the specifics will be revealed. So even if by some cruel twist of fate these events don't give us the launch information, we're still in the home stretch. Then again, maybe Nintendo will just have us all pay with credit cards at Best Buy and we won't know how much it costs until we get our card statements.
