Toshiba announces the release of the Gigabeat MEV30K V series portable video player in the United States.
Toshiba released the similar Gigabeat V30T already in Japan back in May. The Gigabeat V30K does not sport a digital TV Tuner though.
The U.S. bound V Series features a 3.5" TFT LCD display (QVGA resolution), 30GB HDD, 8 hour video playtime on a single battery charge, a built-in speaker and runs Microsoft's Portable Media Center Version 2.0 software.
The design of the Gigabeat V is rather boring for my taste. The battery life is interesting. I repeat myself, but the new 4th series Archos PMPs offer more.
Amazon.com is taking pre-orders for the Toshiba Gigabeat V right now for $399.99.
