Sandisk announces a interesting device that can record video in different formats on several memory card types.
Via analog video inputs this enhanced memory card reader can directly store video onto SD™, MMC™, MMCplus™ MMCmobile™, SDHC™, MiniSDHC™, MicroSDHC™, Memory Stick PRO™, Memory Stick Duo™ and Memory Stick PRO Duo™ cards.
The V-Mate comes with a remote and supports simple PVR like timer recording that can be configured via a graphical menu displayed on connected TV. Via the integrated infrared emitter the V-Mate can switch-on devices to start recording.
The V-Mate measures just 5.1” x 2.6” x 0.8,” so it will fit snugly next to almost any-sized television. The V-Mate, expected to be available in October 2006, will sell for $129.99 MSRP.
