Sony announces in Europe new navigation devices with several interesting new features.
The Sony Nav-u NV-U81T and NV-U80 features Sony’s “POSITION PLUS" technology that interpolates your position when there is no GPS signal. The new navigation devices use an acceleration sensor and a pressure sensor to guess the vehicle motion.
Other features include a large 4.3 inch screen with large icons and gesture command recognition.
The integrated Bluetooth interface lets you make calls via the Sony nav-u by just touching the screen.
The Sony NV-U81T stores a full European map (37 countries) on its 4GB HDD and supports TMC. The Sony NV-U80 only has 512MB memory for single countries.
The new Sony NV-U81T and NV-U80 will be available throughout Europe from November 2006.
