The school bully business is becoming a lot less lucrative as the term "lunch money" becomes less and less associated with actual hard cash carried around by primary and secondary education students. Some schools have a pre-paid system where parents can pay via credit card, for example. And now, the public school system in Rome, Georgia is turning a new technological leaf by installing fingerprint scanners in the cafeteria.

Students will simply scan their fingerprints, and the lunch purchase will be taken from their account. Plus, it also has a double purpose in case the police ever need to track down a hardened 8-year-old criminal.
School administrators say they plan to have the system fully installed sometime in the next month. Even though it's so amazingly convenient, I bet you can expect some parents to become very concerned about getting their childrens' prints into a state-run facility at such an early age.
