JVC works on a speaker in the shape of a sphere, where the whole surface resonates to produce natural sounds.
The current version measures 100mm in diameter and is made up by 2 panels. There are no frames. The sound waves are distributed in all directions.
It will be interesting how the final product will look like and if JVC is releasing this technology for Hi-Fi or Home Cinema systems.
JVC plans to bring the new speakers to the market in 2007. More details on Nikkei.Net (Subscription).
