The interest in Apple's iTV media streaming box for the living room is pretty big. Apple only revealed some aspects of the iTV (not final name) at their event about one week ago.
Disney's CEO Robert Iger made several comments about the Apple iTV at a Goldman Sachs conference this week. The most interesting one is that the iTV might have a hard-drive to store video on. Mr. Iger also said that the box is easy to use and feels that it is a game changer.
One of the unkown things is how well the Apple iTV will stream video wirelessly. Possibly Apple will adopt the new 802.11n standard.
What is known so far is that the iTV needs a computer to stream. The killer-app would be when the iTV box could access iTunes without the need of having your PC on. A hard-drive would already be a good step to be able to use the iTV without having to have any computer on in the network.
More details about the Disney iTV statements on Apple Insider. The Apple iTV box is supposed to come early 2007.
