Sony confirmed in an interview on Gamespot that the 20GB Sony PS3 will not see a price-cut in the U.S. on launch day.
As reported last week, Sony reduced the price of the lower end Sony Playstation 3 about 20% in Japan.
The Sony PS3 with 20GB and now with HDMI will sell as planned for $499 in the States.
At least you got HDMI in the 20GB PS3. Now you can buy the cheaper PS3 without the feeling you miss out on the HD movie world to come.
If you want built-in Wi-Fi, a memory stick reader and a larger hard-drive you still have to go for the more expensive PS3. The premium PS3 is $100 more expensive than the standard PS3.
The Europeans would be happy to get a PS3 this autumn, so price is not even a topic for them.
