DailyTech has details of the upcoming Quad-core Xeon processors from Intel. The Xeon CPUs will share the same design of the recently announced Intel Core 2 Quadro along with the same Kentsfield core. There are no differences between the Core 2 Quadro and the Xeon quad-core CPUs save name and target markets. Xeon CPUs in the quad-core varieties will be called Xeon X3220 which will be clocked at 2.4 GHz and the Xeon X3210 clocked at 2.13 GHz. Both processors will sport the same 1066 MHz FSB and have 8MB of L2 cache. The new Quad-core’s are slated for a Q1 2007 launch at $851 for the X3220 and $690 for the X3210 in 1000 unit lots. Here I just received my Core 2 X6800 and the quad-core CPUs are due in a few months. Shop for Intel CPUs here.
