Imation is announcing today a new CD & DVD publisher called the Imation D20 Disc Publisher. The new disc publisher is aimed at small and medium businesses. The D20 can copy up to 20 discs at once and print full color direct-to-disc labels with Imation Inkjet Printable Media with Aquaguard.
At about the size of normal inkjet printers, the D20 won’t take excess space on the desktop and with the entire process automated, anyone can do it. Connectivity is via USB and the D20 is both Mac and PC compatible. The labels are done at 4800dpi in up to 16.7 million colors using a single cartridge. The integrated CD/DVD burner is from Pioneer and records at speeds up to 16x for DVD+R/-R, up to 8x for DVD+/-R DL and up to 40x for CD-R. MSRP for the D20 is set at $1495 and it is available now.
