Kingston Technology Company is launching today a new USB flash drive in their DataTraveler family called the DataTraveler Secure. Not only does the new drive protect your data from unauthorized viewers via 256-bit AES hardware encryption, it protects your data from the environment too.
The DataTraveler Secure is water resistant up to four feet to keep the drive from being damaged by spills and rain. Rather than use a plastic case, Kingston went with a more durable metal case for the drive.
When used via USB 2.0 the write speeds are a claimed 10 MB/s with read speeds of 24 MB/s. My Traveler software is also included to allow you to synchronize files with a host device such as a PC or laptop.
