The Weird-7 is possibly the strangest robot kit available. The two-legged walking robot resembles a weird looking bird and was introduced last year in Japan.
The design of Weird-7 robot is genius in its simplicity. The body parts are made from wood. The simple shaped head with the two big eyes make this walking robot look really funny.
There is now a new extension kit available for the Weird-7 that improves the movements of the robot.
Via a wireless module the Weird-7 can be also controlled remotely.
I could not find a store that sells this robot kit outside of Japan.
The new Weird-7 W7-MP1 extension kit sells for 13,965 Yen (~$117). The Weird-7 bird robot kit sells for 29,988 Yen (~$250).
More details on Impress (Japanese) and on the Weird-7 site (Japanese).
