Art Levedev the guys behind the cool Optimus OLED keyboard, put out another concept device dubbed the Upravlator.
The Upravlator takes the 3 button Optimus Mini to the next level offering 12 buttons.
The Upravlator concept is only cool the first 5 seconds and then I realized that a conventional touch screen with some Flash application does the same thing. Sure there are no real buttons then, but virtual ones will do. Quality M3 MicroTouch screens sell for about $600.
The Optimus OLED keyboard is an uncompromising new product that is unique; the Upravlator is not even getting close. Even the 3 button Optimus Mini has more appeal because it is unique; useless, but unique.
Apparently the final Optimus keyboard is actually going to use 32x32px LCDs. Pre-orders for the big Optimus keyboard should start around December 2006 with shipping date after Spring 2007.
