BitTorrent Inc. is announcing that they are working with hardware manufacturers worldwide to bring embedded BitTorrent to the consumer electronics market. ASUS is among the first manufacturers to offer a product using embedded BitTorrent in their new WL-700gE Wireless Storage Router.

Other products that will likely have embedded BitTorrent are NAS devices and media servers from ASUS, Planex and QNAP enabling download of files without the need for a PC. “BitTorrent technology is clearly going to be the default platform for downloading high-quality digital entertainment, which makes them a key partner for us and a key ingredient in our product roadmap,” said TenLong Deng, Associate VP, Wireless Device Business Unit of ASUS. “BitTorrent is an integral solution to connect the divide between popular content and our devices.” Via DailyTech.
