The Inq is reporting that some of the GeForce 8800 GTX cards due for release this week have been recalled due to a faulty resistor. Supposedly the problem won't change availability or launch plans.
Fixing the faulty cards is evidentially a very fast and easy process with NVIDIA providing the correct part. The worst part of this will not be seen by the buying public, the real headache will be for the writer geeks like me who happen to get one of the defective cards.
It seems that neither NVIDIA nor the board partners expect this to be an issue for any buyers of the cards from launch day on. VR-Zone is saying that only some of the cards were defective, and that it was cause not by fault of NVIDIA or its partners, but by a supplier to NVIDIA who gave the part an incorrect value.
