The rocket launch room style USB self destruction button made big waves early 2005. Now NEC together with Takara offer notebooks with these type of military style accessories.
The NEC Lavie notebooks come bundled with a emergency button to power on and off the notebook and a USB gadget dubbed glitter panel. The glitter panel has a red LED dot matrix display that can display vital stats of the notebook or scrolling messages.
To complete the commando style look the notebooks come with decorative stickers and wallpapers.
NEC offers two bundles. The first features a AMD Sempron powered Lavie with 1GB RAM and 80GB HDD that sells for 152,460 Yen (~$1,300). The second bundle features a NEC notebook with AMD Turion, 1GB RAM and 100GB HDD. It sells for 174,510 Yen (~$1,500).
