Dell is sort of introducing a new Display called the UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC. This new 30” beast is currently only available when you buy select high-end XPS gaming systems from Dell and is not available for purchase alone currently.
Dell tells me that the display will be available to buy without a computer attached to it sometime in January, most likely around time for CES. This new 30” display differentiates itself from the other 30” Dell display in the type of backlighting and color reproduction. The 3007WFP-HC uses Wide Cold-Cathode Florescent Lighting (W-CCFL) backlight and is able to reproduce 92% of the NTSC color space. Typical displays on the market can only reproduce 72% of the color space. Like the previous big 30” Dell the resolution is 2560x1600, the response time is 8ms and also included are a 9-in-1 card reader as well as four USB ports. Pricing is set at $1699. Buy your own Dell display here. Image and story via DailyTech.
