It seems like new webcams are hitting the market everyday now, and Microsoft has recently released their first notebook specific webcam called the NX-6000. The webcam boast some good sounding features on paper.
The main claim to fame for this cam is the 2-megapixel resolution for the still camera. Microsoft built the cam from the ground up for the rigors of mobile use and even designed the lens so that it hides inside the cam body. Everything USB put the NX-6000 through its paces and found it to be somewhat lacking. Review excerpt: "When extended from the casing, the camera lens can rotate 45° up and down so you don't have to reposition the LCD itself to get a better picture angle. The camera height is relatively low compared to the height of the LCD, allowing for seemingly better eye contact." Buy your own NX-6000 here.
