Overclockers and PC gamers know the name Crucial as makers of some fantastic RAM. Today we are having a look at the Crucial Ballistix PC2-8000 DDR2. This RAM features a very attractive heatsink in a gold/orange color.
The Crucial RAM is also EPP allowing for easier overclocking on compatible mainboards. Unfortunately for me my abit AW9D-Max mainboard simply refused to run the Crucial RAM at the desired 1000MHz. I will revisit this RAM again in the future when my new BFG mainboard based on the NVIDIA 680i chipset gets here. Review excerpt: "After opening the box and extracting the memory from the little plastic bags, I was greeting with a nice looking matched pair of some of the fastest 1GB RAM modules around. The heatsink is very attractive in the polished orange/gold color with the machined silver lip. It looks great inside my system." Buy your own Crucial PC2-8000 DDR here.
