Finally we have a card to put into those 1x PCI Express slots that many mainboards come equipped with. abit is launching a Wi-Fi card called the AirPace Wi-Fi that fits into the 1X slots, or any other available PCI-E slot for that matter.
The card is 802.11b/g compatible and can hit speeds of up to 54 Mbps. An external antenna helps to ensure quality signal strength. The card also has enhanced wireless security and a software AP mode. The tiny little card measures in at 46.5mm x 68mm x 12mm. Security modes supported are WEP 64-bit and 128-bit. WPA, Wi-Fi Protected Access, is also available. If you want a wireless card and like me the only thing available inside your PC is a 1X slot, this is the card for you. Story via The Inquirer
