The RipRoar VideoFree DVR Portable Media Player for kids is now selling for only $48 on Wal-mart.

The RipRoar Video Free can record directly from a TV. It can switch channels via an IR blaster and you can manage up to 8 pre-programmed recordings. Other features of the RipRoar include a 2.5 inch color screen, 5 hour battery life for video play back, 512MB internal memory, expandable to 2GB with SD card, built-in speaker and USB port.
The MSRP of the RipRoar is $199. $48 is a real steal.
This low price could also make the RipRoar attractive for DYI guys to rip out the screen or mod this thing into something else.
