Convert your Circa 1989 Cassette Tapes to Digital with the Plus Deck
Topic: Hardware & Peripherals
Posted on Thu, 21 Dec 2006 17:00:00 CST | by Shane McGlaunI am proud to say that I missed the whole hair band thing back in the late 80’s, though I did once own a Milli Vanilli cassette. However, many geeks that hail from the same time frame were no doubt into hair metal and have a plethora of old cassette tapes lying around somewhere that can only now be played in a 1983 Camero. Do they even make cassette players anymore?
If you have a strong desire to be reminded of the music from your high school days you liked to jam too as you smoked out behind the gym but lack the cassette player play them on, Play Deck is here to help.
I just saw that we actually reviewed the Plus Deck 2 already back in 2005.
This thing goes into the 5.25” drive bay of your PC and acts for all the world like a cassette player, and heck it is a cassette player. You can play your old music back through it to your PC speakers. If you want to add some old school to your iPod, this thing can also digitally store your tunes as well. Just remember, these days they will arrest you for smoking behind the gym. Story and image via OhGizmo!
