The first round of NVIDIA 8800 GTX graphics cards from all the NVIDIA partners were standard clocked. Until recently there were no factory overclocked 8800 GTX cards on the market and now XFX has stepped in and slapped their XXX moniker on a 8800 GTX that is overclocked right out of the box.

The only difference in the 8800 GTX XXX and stock 8800 GTX cards that XFX sells are the clock speeds, the XXX has a 2GHz memory clock and a 630 MHz core clock where as the stock 8800 GTX has 1.8GHz memory clock and 575 MHz on the core clock. The price premium for the XXX is only $50 more than the stock card, but is it worth your $50? Review excerpt: "Today we will just look at the performance improvements and compare the 8800 GTX XXX performance to the performance of the stock 8800 GTX. The only place that the 8800 GTX XXX differs from the stock 8800 GTX is in the clock speeds. The stock 8800 GTX is clocked at 575 MHz on the core and 1.8 GHz on the memory whereas the XXX version is clocked at 630 MHz on the core and 2GHz on the memory." Read the full review here.
