EVGA is jumping on the bandwagon that BFG started by bringing their own water cooled 8800 GTX to market. EVGA has gifted their card with a Johnny Depp inspired moniker “The Black Pearl”.
The card is water cooled only and will sport a 626MHz core with a 2000MHz memory clock and is rumored to be shipping for the shocking price of a bit over $1036 or 800 British pounds. The card will carry a 10 year warranty in the UK and those of us in the USA get the standard lifetime warranty. Looking at the picture the water block EVGA is using looks very similar to the block BFG uses. The confusing part for me is that from the image it seems the water block makes the 8800 GTX a single slot card just as the BFG water cooled card is. However, the EVGA card is using the same dual slot back plate as the normal air cooled 8800 GTX making it take up two slots anyhow. Story and image via The Inquirer.
