Reuters (via DVHardware) reports that office furniture company Herman Miller licensed the eCoupled intelligent power technology from Fulton Innovation.
eCoupled transfers power through a magnetic field. You do not need to plug your portable devices into a power adapter anymore. Herman Miller apparently plans desks that have a place to just lay your iPod and mobile phones and they will be charged - it will be like magic!
There is no release date set for an eCoupled powered Herman Miller desk.
We reported about eCoupled already when the technology debuted at CES 2007.
You sure know Herman Miller for their cool Aeron office Chair. I for my part prefer though the Humanscale Freedom Chair. Mine is of course I4U green.
