If you are looking to loose some of the remotes you have acquired with your home theater components and go to a high quality universal remote control Logitech has a great one called the Harmony 890 Advanced Universal Remote.
This remote programs via software on your PC and an included USB cable meaning you don’t have to enter codes to set up your devices like you do on most cheap remotes. You can control up to 15 devices with this one remote including compatible lights and appliances. Review excerpt: "Mortal remotes use AA or AAA batteries to operate, but the Harmony 890 utilizes a rechargeable battery like a portable phone. The good part is that you never need to buy replacement batteries. The bad part is that if you forget to recharge the remote for a few days you may find yourself out of luck when it comes to movie night." Read the full review here.
