If you are the owner of a HDTV, even a mere year or so old you may be stuck with a problem you haven’t even noticed yet, one HDMI port. A while back, one HDMI port was enough and many HDTVs shipped with a single.
However, as any one who has jumped into the HD age can tell you one HDMI doesn’t really cut it. You need one for your HD Cable or satellite converter and one for your Blu-ray or HD DVD player at a minimum. Unless you enjoy making trips to the TV to change your HDMI cable form the cable box to your high def DVD player you are going to need something like this switch from Evergreen. This little switch has some cool features the most important of which is the ability to allow one HDMI input on your TV to connect to two HDMI sources. To make things even more useful the Evergreen EG-HDM201 has a remote to allow you to change inputs from the comfort of your favorite chair. It has an IR receiver that is on an extension allowing you to hide the switch and still remotely control it. You might expect this to be a high cost device but Evergreen is bringing it to market at $82. Story and image via Sci Fi Tech.
