JVC Gets Ready to Launch 120Hz HDTV Sets

I talked a bit about a demo I saw at CES from Olevia that showed the difference in picture quality you get from a LCD TV with a 120Hz refresh rate compared to a set with the standard 60Hz rate. The visual difference was quite impressive with the 120Hz set looking much clearer and more life like.
JVC is poised to beat Olevia to market with sets based on the 120Hz tech and have announced three new TVs that will utilize the higher refresh rate allowing a new image on screen every 8.3ms, which is twice as fast as standard sets. The improved refresh rate is achieved via interpolation. The 32 LT-32L95, 37 LT-37LC95 and 42 LT42LC95 all share 120Hz refresh, 1366 x 768 resolution, 500 cd/m2 brightness and built in digital tuners. The sets all three also have only 1 HDMI input which isnt great, 3 composite input sets, 1RGB, 2 FireWire inputs and a SD memory card slot for viewing JPEG images on the screen. The 32 and 37 units are set to drop in Japan in late February for $1899 and $2391 respectively with the larger 42 version showing up in March for $3038. No word on if the sets are coming stateside.
