An electronic device called Whispering Windows has been introduced by Etrema Products Inc.

According to the company, the device uses an advanced “smart metal” to inconspicuously transform a pane of glass or solid surface into an audio speaker.

The system makes use of two small chrome-plated devices, each about the size of a hockey puck, that attach to a pane of glass or other smooth surface. The company says that unlike traditional speakers, which often project distorted and inconsistent sound, Whispering Windows allows solid surfaces such as glass, steel, plaster, wood and other solid materials to produce smooth and steady sound in the form of spoken words, music or both.
