Sony Ericsson officially announces today the super-thin W880/W888 Walkman music phone.
Sony Ericsson teased us early January with photos of the thinnest Walkman phone as of yet. Now the details have been released of the new W880 music phone.
The W880 is only 9.4mm thin (Thinner than Apple's upcoming iPhone) and comes bundled with a 1GB M2 Sony Memory stick. Other features of the 3G Walkman phone include a 2MP camera, 1.8” QVGA 262k TFT display, Walkman player 2.0,
up to 18h music playback, Bluetooth Audio Streaming, Video recording and video playback, Full HTML browser with RSS.
The W880 and W888 will be available in selected markets from Q1 2007. The W888 Walkman phone is a GSM variant that is aimed for China, where 3G is not widely available yet.
The other new Walkman phone that Sony Ericsson announced is the W610, which is just a slight improvement over currently available Walkman phones.
Sony says that they have already shipped 20 million Walkman phones world-wide. Not a bad success.
