Reuters reports that New York could soon ban iPod use and cell phone use while crossing a street.
Reading the headline this morning I did not believe that this could be real. Considering though that 3 people died within a month crossing the street in Brooklyn while listening to music or talking on the phone, this is an issue that needs to be addressed somehow. I do not think a ban should be the answer. This would limit the use of portable devices in NY quite drastically.
Now that NY is one of the safest cities in the United States it’s the iPods and cell phones that kill people not bullets.
If the iPod ban goes into affect you might want to look into these In-Ear Silicone Headphones. They are very unobtrusive and you definitely will not hear the policeman yelling after you.
