Sure, the Air Genie looks like E.T.’s Spaceship but it’s actually a helium filled full-color video-surfaced airship. The designers say the air ship can fly silently through the sky controlled by computerized electric prop rings.
The surface of the ship is covered with digital video cameras that allow the sphere to project its surroundings onto the surface of the ship. The tech sounds a lot like Predator from the old gubernator flick.
Though the Air Genie will look coolest a night it is said to be bright enough to be seen in the daytime as well. The pilot’s cabin is retractable and replete with digital control screens allowing the Air Genie to float like a ball. The spherical diameter is 115 feet and the volume is 792,764 cubic feet. Cruise speed is 36 km/hr and the total weight of the air ship is 20 metric tons. Story and image via Air Genie
